ZIPP 303 S Disc Carbon Centerlock Tubeless Wheelset

The Zipp 303 S Carbon Tubeless wheelset for disc brakes is a lightweight and aerodynamic all-round wheelset with 45mm rim height. They are optimal for riders who like to climb and also ride on the flats. The 303 S are suitable for road, gravel and even cyclocross. The Zipp 303 S is the successor to the Zipp 302 and is inspired by the popular all-round wheels Zipp 303, but priced a little more attractive.

Compatible tires

The Zipp 303 S wheelset is aerodynamically optimized for 28mm wide tubeless tires. For more comfort and grip, however, it also copes with wider tires up to 50mm. The wide rims are optimized for lower tire pressures, especially with tubeless tires. The maximum tire pressure is only 5 bar. As a result, however, this leads to a larger contact area, higher comfort, more grip and lower rolling resistance.

The hookless rims of the 303 S are only suitable for tubeless tires. Folding tires are therefore not compatible with the Zipp 303 S! The tires can be driven tubeless or with a conventional tube. An overview of the compatible tires can be found here.

Aerodynamics

The rim is a full 27mm wide and the rim bed measures 23mm. The Zipp 303 S is aerodynamically optimized for 28mm tires. Due to its width, the rim optimizes the tire shape and thus allows a lower air pressure. This not only reduces rolling resistance but also makes riding more comfortable. The result of internal tests is a saving of 10 watts compared to other upper class wheels at 40 km/h on a flat road with 28 mm tires.

Weight

The Zipp 303 S Tubeless Disc Brake wheels have a low weight of only 1530 grams, despite the 45 mm high aerodynamic rims.

Tire mounting

The rims are optimized for easy, tool-free mounting of tubeless tires. No more need for a compressor to mount tires. Yeah!

Compatible cassettes

The Zipp 303 S are available with 2 different freewheel bodies:

Shimano/SRAM 10/11/12-speed: The classic Shimano HG freewheel. All 10, 11 and 12-speed Shimano Road and SRAM Race 10 and 11-speed cassettes can be mounted.

SRAM XDR 12-speed: The XDR freewheel body is only compatible with SRAM XDR 12-speed cassettes.

Rims

The Zipp 303 S rim is a full 27mm wide and the rim bed measures 23mm. It is made of carbon. Conventional folding tires require a hook rim to sit securely on the rim. The 303 S lacks this hook. The tubeless tire design ensures that the tire sits on the rim through the tire pressure. This allows wider tires to be mounted with less air pressure. This leads to better aerodynamics, lower rolling resistance and greater comfort!

Spokes

Zipp makes no compromises and uses the tried and tested Sapim CX-Sprint spokes with the 303 S.

Hubs

Zipp uses the proven Zipp 76D (front) and 176D (rear) hubs in the 303 S wheels. The hubs are equipped with sealed and maintenance-free industrial bearings.

Zipp wheels are rugged. So rugged that Zipp offers a lifetime warranty against production defects! The warranty is non-transferable and only redeemable with proof of purchase. In addition, you must register for the warranty at Zipp after purchase.
