Why choose Powermetershop?
- Order number: SW10958
The Inpeak Rechargeable Powercrank-E Shimano GRX FC-RX810 / FC-RX820 is a single-sided power meter with an integrated rechargeable battery for Shimano GRX cranks. It suits riders who use their gravel bike often and can easily build charging into their routine. You get the same simple measurement logic as the battery version, but you do not need to replace coin cells. That makes the system very convenient for regular training and frequent riding.
Strengths and weaknesses
- Integrated rechargeable battery instead of battery changes.
- Up to 90 hours runtime.
- Integrated cadence measurement.
- Only 10 g added weight.
- ANT+ and Bluetooth LE.
- Automatic temperature compensation.
- IP67 protection.
- Compatible with Shimano GRX RX600, RX810 and RX820.
- Left-side measurement only.
- Battery must be charged regularly.
- TL-FC16 tool required for installation.
Who the rechargeable version suits
The rechargeable version works well if you use your bike often and already charge devices such as a head unit, shifting or lights regularly. You do not need to buy or replace batteries. That makes daily use a bit easier. If you train several times per week, this version is often the more convenient choice.
Rechargeable or battery
The choice depends mainly on how you use the bike. The battery version fits travel, long rides and irregular use better. The rechargeable version fits fixed routines and frequent training better. Technically both systems are close, but day-to-day use feels a bit different.
Compatibility and installation
The power meter fits Shimano GRX RX600, RX810 and RX820. The housing sits on the inside of the left crank arm. Around 10 mm of frame clearance should be available in the power meter area. For installation you need the Shimano TL-FC16 tool. You can find more matching models in our Inpeak category.
Single-sided measurement in practice
This model also measures only the left leg and doubles the value for total power. In practice this is enough for training, pacing and load control. If you want exact balance data, you need a different system. For most riders, the added value of a dual-sided system is smaller than often assumed.
Connectivity and daily use
The power meter sends power and cadence via ANT+ and Bluetooth LE. That makes it work with many bike computers, apps and indoor platforms. The battery charges via USB. Automatic temperature compensation keeps readings stable in changing temperatures.
Alternative systems
If you want a similar Shimano crank-arm power meter, you can also browse our 4iiii category. Both systems are built around a similar idea. In our experience, Inpeak power meters are more robust and come back less often as complaints.
If you prefer a pedal-based system, you can also browse our Favero Assioma category. Assioma measures in the pedal and is easier to move between bikes.
