The successful model of the Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT is now available as the 2025 edition in its third version. The BOLT is a compact bike computer with an aerodynamic housing and a 2.3" TFT color display. It weighs 84g and offers up to 20 hours of battery life. The device supports dual-band GPS (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo) for precise position tracking and connects via WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, and ANT+ to sensors and third-party apps. With on-device smart navigation and preinstalled maps, it simplifies route guidance and re-routing back to the planned course.

Design and Aerodynamics

The housing of the BOLT V3 is wind tunnel-optimized and keeps weight to a minimum at just 84g, without sacrificing stability or functionality. Its flat profile and smooth surfaces minimize turbulence so that every watt translates into forward motion—ideal for sprints and long climbs.

Display and User Interface

The 2.3" high-resolution TFT color screen delivers sharp visuals of key ride metrics, detailed maps, and smart notifications—even in direct sunlight. An integrated ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the backlight, and the updated UI design guides you intuitively through all menus.

Battery and Charging

The rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to 20h, making it suitable for long road rides and multi-day events. The BOLT V3 charges via a robust USB-C port and is fully ready in just a few hours.

Connectivity and Sensors

With WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, and ANT+, the BOLT V3 easily pairs with Wahoo TRACKR sensors (heart rate, speed, cadence) as well as power meters and electronic drivetrains from Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo. Live tracking, smartphone notifications, and music control (Spotify, Apple Music) give you full control without needing to handle your phone.

Navigation and Route Management

Dual-band GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo ensure precise positioning. On-device smart navigation features like “Get Me Started” and “Route to Start” direct you to your ride’s starting point. With “Back on Track” and “Retrace Route,” you can quickly return to your planned course at any time. Detailed map layers with elevation profiles, POIs, and visualized climbs are preinstalled and can be expanded via the Wahoo app.

App Integration and Training Features

The BOLT V3 is an integral part of the Wahoo ecosystem: load structured workouts from Wahoo SYSTM, TrainingPeaks, Intervals.icu, or TrainerRoad directly onto the device. Sync your training data in real time with Strava, Komoot, or Best Bike Split and analyze performance in the cloud. New API features also allow for custom training plans and user-defined alerts for time, distance, or calories.
