Display & Operation
The high-quality 2.7″ touchscreen (420×600 px, approx. 1,000 nits) ensures excellent visibility. Combined with buttons around the device, navigation remains reliable even in wet conditions or when wearing gloves. The system mirrors the Edge 1050 – now in a more compact form.
Navigation & Maps
Preloaded TopoActive maps and TrailForks data provide both road navigation and off-road routes. Routes are recalculated in real time, while Trendline Popularity heatmaps highlight the most popular paths. With touch input, you can search addresses directly or plan round trips. Thanks to 64 GB of storage, large map regions (e.g. Europe + North America) can be installed simultaneously.
Training & MTB Features
Smart Fueling adjusts carbohydrate and hydration recommendations based on your fitness, route, and environmental conditions. The Edge 850 also features adaptive power guidance, gear-ratio analysis, GroupRide comparison data, and 5 Hz GNSS for accurate downhill tracking. MTB profiles include timing gates, climb/descent laps, and Forksight trail guidance.
Safety & Connectivity
LiveTrack, incident detection, and Varia radar integration are included. Voice prompts (e.g. turn-by-turn navigation) and the bike-bell can be triggered via the integrated speaker – optionally also through a SRAM AXS button or older Edge remotes.
