Inpeak Powercrank Shimano 105 R7100

The Inpeak Powercrank Shimano 105 FC-R7100 is a single-sided power meter for modern Shimano 105 road bikes and other compatible Hollowtech II road cranks. It measures on the left crank arm and keeps the system light, simple and reasonably priced. If you want to add power data to your road bike without moving straight to a more expensive full system, this model is often the most sensible starting point. For structured training, it is very close to what most riders actually need in practice.

Strengths and weaknesses

  • Single-sided power measurement with solid accuracy (± 2%).
  • CR2032 battery is quick and easy to replace.
  • Compatible with Shimano Hollowtech II road cranks.
  • Integrated cadence measurement.
  • Only 10 g added weight.
  • ANT+ and Bluetooth LE.
  • Automatic temperature compensation.
  • IP67 protection.
  • Left-side measurement only.
  • No true left-right balance data.
  • TL-FC16 tool required for installation.

Who this model suits

This model suits riders who want reliable power data on a road bike. It works for endurance training, intervals, FTP tests and race pacing. If you want to train by power but do not need an expensive or complicated system, this model is often enough in practice.

Why the battery version makes sense

The battery version works well if you ride regularly but do not want a fixed charging routine. You can replace a CR2032 quickly yourself. That is often more practical for long rides, travel or a second bike than dealing with a flat battery. If you want to stay independent, the battery version is usually the safer choice.

Compatibility and installation

The power meter fits Shimano Hollowtech II road cranks, including 105, Ultegra and Dura-Ace. The housing sits on the inside of the left crank arm. Around 10 mm of frame clearance should be available in the power meter area. For installation you need the Shimano TL-FC16 tool. You can find more matching models in our Inpeak category.

Single-sided measurement in practice

The power meter measures only the left leg and doubles the value for total power. For most riders this is fully enough for training and pacing. If you have a strong left-right imbalance, a dual-sided system can be more accurate. In normal training use, the difference is often smaller than expected.

Connectivity and daily use

The power meter sends power and cadence via ANT+ and Bluetooth LE. That makes it work with many bike computers, training apps and indoor platforms. Automatic temperature compensation keeps the readings stable when conditions change. You install firmware updates wirelessly through the Inpeak app.

Alternative systems

If you want a similar Shimano crank-arm power meter, you can also browse our 4iiii category. Both systems follow a similar idea. In our experience, Inpeak power meters are more robust and come back less often as complaints.

If you prefer a pedal-based system, you can also browse our Favero Assioma category. Assioma measures in the pedal, so it is easier to move between bikes.
