Inpeak Powercrank Shimano GRX RX810 / RX820

The Inpeak Powercrank Shimano GRX FC-RX810 / FC-RX820 is a single-sided power meter for Shimano GRX cranks. It measures on the left crank arm and suits gravel riders who want clean power data without moving to a more expensive or more complex system. The setup stays light, easy to use and practical for daily riding. On long rides, in training and on mixed terrain, this is often the most sensible option.

Strengths and weaknesses

  • Single-sided power measurement with solid accuracy (± 2%).
  • CR2032 battery is quick and easy to replace.
  • Integrated cadence measurement.
  • Only 10 g added weight.
  • ANT+ and Bluetooth LE.
  • Automatic temperature compensation.
  • IP67 protection.
  • Compatible with Shimano GRX RX600, RX810 and RX820.
  • Left-side measurement only.
  • No true left-right balance data.
  • TL-FC16 tool required for installation.

Who this model suits

This model suits riders who use their gravel bike for training, touring, bikepacking or fast all-road rides. If you want to hit training zones, pace climbs better or review workload after the ride, a left-side power meter is often enough in practice. You get clear power data without adding unnecessary complexity or maintenance.

Why the battery version makes sense

The battery version works well if you ride regularly but do not want fixed charging cycles. You can replace a CR2032 quickly on your own. That is often more practical on trips, long rides or on the road than dealing with a depleted battery. If you want to stay independent, the battery version is often the more robust everyday choice.

Compatibility and installation

The power meter fits Shimano GRX RX600, RX810 and RX820. The housing sits on the inside of the left crank arm. Around 10 mm of frame clearance should be available in the power meter area. For installation you need the Shimano TL-FC16 tool. You can find more matching models in our Inpeak category.

Single-sided measurement in practice

The power meter measures only the left leg and doubles the value for total power. In practice this is enough for training, pacing and load control. Only riders with a clear left-right imbalance may benefit more from a dual-sided system. For most gravel riders, that difference is not decisive in daily use.

Connectivity and daily use

The power meter sends power and cadence via ANT+ and Bluetooth LE. That makes it compatible with many bike computers, training apps and indoor platforms. Automatic temperature compensation keeps readings stable in changing conditions. Like with any power meter, you should do a zero-offset calibration before the ride.

Alternative systems

If you want a similar Shimano crank-arm power meter, you can also browse our 4iiii category. Both systems follow a similar idea. In our experience, Inpeak power meters are more robust and come back less often as complaints.

If you prefer a pedal-based system, you can also browse our Favero Assioma category. Assioma measures in the pedal, so it is easier to move between bikes.
