The Favero Assioma PRO RS-1 is a single-sided road power meter for riders using Shimano SPD-SL who do not want to change the feel of their existing pedal system. Power is measured in the left pedal and calculated into a total value. Riders who later need true left-right data can upgrade to the Assioma PRO RS-2.

Its strength lies in how cleanly it integrates into an existing Shimano road setup: cleats, ergonomics, and ride feel remain familiar. If you deliberately prefer Look KEO, the Assioma PRO RL-1 is the more suitable PRO alternative.

Why the PRO RS-1 makes sense for Shimano riders

Many entry-level solutions save money on the sensor but force the rider into a different pedal standard. The PRO RS-1 avoids that. Riders already using SPD-SL can keep their shoes, cleats, and familiar ride feel while still getting reliable power data for structured training.

Single-sided measurement with a clear use case

The left pedal measures power and the value is then doubled. For intervals, endurance rides, FTP-focused training, and general training control, this is enough for many riders. If left-right balance changes a lot, however, the difference from true total power increases.

Weight, stack height, and ride feel

At just 123.5 g per pedal, the PRO RS-1 is among the lightest power meter pedals in its category. The low 10.5 mm stack height delivers a direct pedalling feel and helps preserve the rider's existing Shimano-based fit and position.

Modular PRO platform

The measuring unit is protected inside the spindle and the pedal body can be replaced. That improves long-term value because the real investment is in the measuring hardware, not the outer pedal shell. Riders who later want more data depth can upgrade to the PRO RS-2.

Compatible bikes and cleats

The PRO RS-1 is designed for road and triathlon bikes. It is compatible with Shimano SPD-SL cleats and matching SM-SH10, SM-SH11, and SM-SH12 options. It therefore suits riders who do not want to adapt to a different cleat system.

Battery, data transmission, and setup

Up to 160 hours of runtime significantly reduces charging frequency. Charging is done via a magnetic connector on the mounted pedal. Data transmission works via ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart, while setup and firmware updates are handled in the Favero Assioma app.
