Favero Assioma PRO RL-1 Look KEO Power Meter

The Favero Assioma PRO RL-1 is the single-sided Look KEO model of the modern PRO series and is aimed at riders who want to enter the new Favero spindle platform without immediately paying for a dual-sided system. Power is measured in the left pedal and total power is calculated from that value. If you later want true dual-sided measurement, the direct upgrade path leads to the Assioma PRO RL-2.

Compared with the classic Assioma UNO, the RL-1 is more about the modern PRO architecture, longer battery life, and a cleaner upgrade path. For KEO riders, it is therefore better understood as a strategic entry into the new platform rather than just a cheaper single-pedal solution.

The actual value of the PRO RL-1

The PRO RL-1 is not a stripped-down gadget but a deliberately positioned entry model into the PRO platform. It suits riders who want clean power data for training, pacing, and performance control, while postponing the cost of a dual-sided system. That is why the value proposition remains coherent.

Upgrade path instead of dead end

The PRO RL-1 is designed for road and triathlon use and works with Look KEO compatible cleats. It therefore fits especially well for riders who are already committed to the KEO ecosystem and do not want to move to SPD-SL.

Construction of the PRO series

The measuring hardware is fully housed inside the axle of the left pedal. This creates a cleaner pedal shape and protects the electronics against water, dirt, and mechanical stress. For a pedal power meter, this is a meaningful structural improvement over older designs with external sensor housings.

Battery and charging behaviour

Up to 160 hours of runtime is a clear practical advantage, especially for frequent riders and multi-bike users. Fast charging adds another benefit: 15 minutes of charging can deliver up to 15 hours of riding time. This noticeably reduces day-to-day training friction.

Installation, data transmission, and setup

Installation is done with a 15 mm open-end wrench like a normal pedal. Data transmission runs via ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart. Activation, crank length, and firmware updates are managed in the Favero app.
