Assioma PRO RL-1 Look Keo Power Meter

The Assioma PRO RL-1 is Favero’s latest power meter for the road – lighter, more precise, and even more versatile. With single-sided power measurement and a sleek, modular design, the PRO RL-1 sets a new standard. The pedal is fully compatible with Look Keo cleats – without compromising fit or feel. Weighing just 130 g per pedal, the PRO RL-1 is currently the lightest Look Keo power meter pedal with fully adjustable release tension on the market. The fully sealed sensor unit is housed within the robust axle body and separated from the pedal body – ensuring maximum durability and easy maintenance.

The PRO RL-1 is the evolution of the Assioma DUO/UNO, as the measurement now takes place in the pedal axle and no longer in the transmitter.

Single-Sided Measurement

The Assioma PRO RL-1 measures power on the left pedal only. This data is transmitted via ANT+ as a doubled signal, so compatible bike computers display “virtual” dual-sided power. The data is highly precise (±1%) and includes advanced metrics like cadence and Pedal Center Offset (PCO).

The Assioma PRO RL-1 is especially well-suited for beginners or riders on a budget who can accept a small compromise in precision. Riders seeking maximum accuracy and detailed pedal dynamics should opt for the dual-sided PRO RS-1.

Compatible Bike Computers and Smartphones

The PRO RL-1 transmits data via ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart. It is compatible with all common bike computers (Garmin, Wahoo, Sigma, etc.) as well as smartphones using the Favero Assioma app.

Compatible Bikes & Cleats

The PRO RL-1 is designed for use on road bikes. The included Look Keo compatible cleats fit shoes with a 3-bolt standard. Original Look Keo cleats are also compatible. Riders switching from a Look Keo pedal system will benefit from identical geometry and fit – no adjustment phase needed.

Construction & Weight

Weighing just 130 g per pedal (including sensor and battery), the PRO RL-1 is the new lightweight champion among Look Keo power meters. The ultra-low 10.5 mm stack height improves power transfer and provides a more direct pedaling feel.

Battery Life & Charging

The integrated lithium-ion batteries last up to 160 hours per charge. Charging is easy with the magnetic charging cable while the pedals remain on the bike. Two magnetic connectors and one USB charging cable are included.

Modular Design

A real game-changer: the modular design allows the pedal body to be swapped – e.g., from road to MTB. The sensor unit remains intact. This reduces long-term costs and opens up entirely new use cases.

Precision & Dynamics

Thanks to the IAV Power System, the PRO RL-2 delivers accurate measurements even when using oval chainrings (±1%). An integrated gyroscope provides additional stability in data transmission – even during sprints or irregular cadence.

Setup & Updates

Setup is done via the Assioma app (iOS & Android). Firmware updates and settings such as crank length can also be configured via the app.

Installation

As simple as always: the pedals are mounted with a (pedal) spanner – no special tools needed. Perfect for frequent riders, bike swappers, and travelers.

IAV Cycling Dynamics

With Cycling Dynamics, you gain deep insight into your pedal technique. In addition to standard power in watts, the following metrics are transmitted:

- Cadence
- Torque Effectiveness (effective force on the pedal)
- Pedal Smoothness (evenness of force distribution during a pedal stroke)
- Power Phase (portion of the stroke where most power is applied)
- Rider Position (seated or standing)

Setup and Firmware Updates

Initial setup and registration require a smartphone and the Assioma app (Android, iOS). The Assioma app is also used for firmware updates. Power meter settings (e.g., crank length) can be easily configured via smartphone.

Durability & Support

The sensor unit is fully sealed and securely housed inside the axle – independent of the pedal body. This increases durability and makes maintenance or replacement even easier. Favero offers the usual 2-year warranty and excellent support, including remote diagnostics via app.
