Assioma PRO RL-1 Look Keo Power Meter

The Favero Assioma PRO RL-1 is aimed at cyclists entering power measurement for the first time, or those looking for a second power meter for an additional bike – without paying the full price of a dual-sided system. The pedal measures power at the left pedal and calculates total wattage by doubling the result. At just 130 g, it is the lightest Look KEO-compatible power meter pedal on the market. Riders who want to upgrade to dual-sided measurement later can extend the PRO RL-1 at any time by adding a second pedal to make it a PRO RL-2.

The PRO RL-1 is the single-sided successor to the Assioma UNO: all measurement technology is fully integrated into the pedal axle – no external pod required.

Differences Between PRO RS-1, PRO MX-1 and Assioma PRO RL-1

The PRO MX-1, PRO RS-1 and PRO RL-1 are technically identical – they differ exclusively in the pedal body: SPD for MTB and gravel, SPD-SL for Shimano road bikes, Look KEO for all KEO-compatible systems. All three models measure single-sided at the left pedal and extrapolate total power. Since the pedal bodies can be swapped without tools, a single spindle can be used across all three disciplines.

Single-Sided or Dual-Sided – When Is the PRO RL-1 Enough?

The PRO RL-1 is well-suited for riders who want to track total power output, stay within training zones and follow a structured training plan. In practice, extrapolating from the left pedal delivers sufficiently accurate values for the vast majority of training applications. However, anyone looking to analyse pedalling asymmetry, optimise bike fit or access full Cycling Dynamics should go directly for the PRO RL-2. A later upgrade is possible at any time – the spindle remains identical.

IAV Power Technology: Everything Inside the Axle

The Assioma PRO RL-1 uses Favero's IAV Power Technology (Integrated Angular Velocity): strain gauges, gyroscope, battery and communication unit are fully housed inside the axle of the left pedal. An external pod or shoe-mounted transmitter is not required. Active temperature compensation and the auto-zero function operate fully automatically in the background. The axle is completely sealed and permanently protected against water and contamination to IP67.

Swappable Pedal Body: One Axle for Three Systems

The PRO RL-1 shares its spindle with the PRO MX and PRO RS. Existing PRO series owners can swap the pedal body without special tools and use the same spindle for Look KEO, SPD-SL or SPD. A replacement pedal body is available for €138 per pair. The body is made from carbon fibre-reinforced technopolymer, offering high stiffness at minimal weight.

160-Hour Battery Life and USB-C Fast Charging

The firmware update released in February 2026 increased the PRO spindle's battery life from 60 to 160 hours. The fast charge function delivers up to 15 additional hours of runtime after just 15 minutes of charging. The included USB-C cable charges via any USB-A port. A power adapter is not included.

Activation and Setup

The free Favero app (iOS and Android) guides you through activation, crank length configuration and firmware update on first use. The PRO RL-1 then transmits power data to any ANT+- or Bluetooth Smart-capable cycling computer or compatible sports watch – no further configuration required.
